In an interview with Unlisted News, Rajoshi said that they both filed for divorce in October last year and it was completely mutual. “I have spent much of my life as the daughter of Shakuntala Barua and the wife of Ashish Vidyarthi. Now the time has come when I want to walk my way alone. I want my own identity, and just to be clear, it’s not like he squashed my identity. I just realized that he is seeing a different future, I am seeing a different one,” he said. He added that he couldn’t have made this decision without Ashish’s support, and that he made it easy for both of them. She said she’s heard of lawyers getting into ugly fights, but nothing like that happened in her case.

Rajoshi addressed the narratives that have cropped up on the internet about her and Ashish. She said: “I’m going crazy with the interpretation that people have about us. This is not fair. Ashish never cheated on me. Even if people think that all she wanted was to get married again. This is a completely false narrative.”

Rajoshi said that they are both different people, and for 2 years, they tried to go their separate ways. “In my personal life, I now have different needs. Now I am unable to meet Mrs. Vidyarthi’s goal,” she said. When asked about a second chance at love, Rajoshi said that she doesn’t need to remarry. “That is not my need. You need a partner. We cannot hang a man for his needs. He has found someone who is a good thing,” she added.
