CBS has decided to end its crime drama series, SWAT, after six successful seasons. The final episode, featuring Shemar Moore as LAPD Sgt. Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, will air on May 19. Despite garnering an immense viewership of 6.82 million, the series was canceled due to the current economics of the TV business. The networks and streamers are now focusing more on having full ownership of their series. Created by Shawn Ryan and Aaron Rahsaan Thomas, SWAT highlighted important social issues and action-packed episodes. Other cast members include Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Kenny Johnson, David Lim, Patrick St. Esprit, and Rochelle Aytes. Ryan executive produced the series with Justin Lin, Neal Moritz, Marney Hochman, Pavun Shetty, Billy Gierhart, Andy Dettman, and Paul Bernard. Although the show is coming to an end, fans can relish the action-packed episodes from other seasons.
