Stop the Gaslighting: Britney Spears’ Husband Lashes Out Against Her Documentary Makers

Britney Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari, is speaking out against the makers of a new documentary about the pop star. The documentary, titled “Britney vs Spears,” delves into Spears’ ongoing legal battle with her father over her conservatorship, which has been in place since 2008.

In a statement posted to his Instagram story, Asghari accused the documentary makers of “hypocrisy” and “gaslighting” Spears. “I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way,” he wrote. “In my opinion, Jamie [Spears, Britney’s father] is a total dick.”

Asghari went on to say that he has “always wanted nothing but the best for my better half” and that he will continue to support her in her fight for freedom. “I’m not going to be quiet about it anymore,” he wrote. “We’re getting married this year and I’m not going to let anyone ruin this happy time.”

The documentary has generated controversy in recent weeks, with some fans and critics arguing that it invades Spears’ privacy and exploits her personal struggles. The film includes interviews with a number of people close to the singer, including her former assistant and her makeup artist.

Asghari’s comments come amid renewed interest in the #FreeBritney movement, which seeks to end the conservatorship that Spears has been under for over a decade. The conservatorship grants her father and a team of lawyers control over her finances, career, and personal life.

In June, Spears testified before a court that the conservatorship was “abusive” and that she wanted it to end. She said that she had been forced to take medication against her will, perform against her wishes, and had been prevented from having more children.

Following her testimony, a judge denied Spears’ request to remove her father as her conservator but did allow her to hire her own attorney. The case is ongoing, and Spears’ next hearing is set for September 29.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Spears and Asghari have remained committed to each other. The two met on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and have been together ever since.

In his Instagram post, Asghari made it clear that he will not stand for anyone who tries to come between them. “Stop with the ‘Free Britney’ bullshit,” he wrote. “This is my woman and I’m going to protect her with my life.”
