We all heard about Kate Gosselin’s antics at Collin and Hannah Gosselin’s high school graduation.
But Collin isn’t letting the presence of this toxic narcissist ruin his mood.
It’s time to focus on the positive! He graduated!
In his post-graduation post, the now-adult sextuplet thanks the people who matter. Guess whose name isn’t on the list?
On Wednesday, adult high school graduate Collin Gosselin (feeling old already?) took to Instagram to celebrate his and Hannah’s big milestone.
He warmed to his “amazing” sister, graduating next to him.
“I would like to thank my dad,” Collin said.
Collin thanked Jon “who has taught me so much about facing hard times and getting through them.”
She added that her father has taught her a lot “about resilience.”
At Kate’s hands, Collin endured trauma no child, or adult, should ever have to endure.
Collin was also sure to say hello to Colleen Conrad.
She and Jon broke up in 2021, but she played a big role in Collin’s life.
“I would like to thank Colleen for cheering me on day in and day out,” Collin acknowledged.
“When you think of someone you want by your side,” Collin wrote, “you think of Colleen.”
He continued, “And as I have told her many times, she is my motivator to succeed in this world.”
Collin also shared a photo of himself, in his graduation cap and gown, alongside Colleen. She was there for him and Hannah at her graduation ceremony.
Although many fans hoped that he would be able to exceed his aspiration, he signaled his intention to pursue some form of military training.
“This chapter of my life has come to an end,” Collin wrote. “Next stop Parris Island.” That site has been used to train military recruits for generations.
“And shortly after,” Collin announced, “I’m studying Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at university! I can not wait!!!”
He did not mention Kate Gosselin, who remains one of the most reviled reality TV personalities in the history of the medium.
His mother just put him through hell for years. Later, she institutionalized him, locking him away from his brothers until Jon finally got custody.
Collin will never have a new childhood. But over time, the specter Kate put him through will fade as he grows into his own person. We support it.
