Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel, who is preparing to return to the big screen with Gadar 2, recently turned herself in at the Ranchi Civil Court in connection with a 2018 bounced check case. She was reportedly accused of cheating to film producer and businessman Ajay Kumar Singh for Rs 3 crore. In 2018, she accused Ameesha of borrowing Rs 2.5 crore from her to make a movie, but she allegedly never finished the movie and didn’t repay the money either.
Ameesha Patel surrenders in Rs 3 crore check bounce case
According to ANI, Ameesha turned herself in on Saturday before the Ranchi Civil Court in connection with the 2018 bounced check case. Soon after, the court granted her probation. The actress has been asked to physically appear in court on the 21ststreet June. A video that has surfaced on social media shows the actress walking out of court with her face covered, as the media and photographers surrounded her and asked her questions. She was seen getting into her car and getting out of it.
The Ameesha Patel Bounced Check Case
Ameesha Patel reportedly visited Ranchi in 2018 to attend an event at Harmu Ground where she met Ajay Kumar Singh. She discussed financing a film with him, since Ajay invested in the film project. According to the complaint filed by Ajay, Ameesha and her partner Krunal never finished filming the film and promised to repay the borrowed amount of Rs 2.5 crore along with interest of Rs 50 lakh.
When the actress returned the amount in October 2018, the checks bounced, after which the filmmaker decided to take the legal route.

Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel will soon be seen on the big screen in Gadar 2, co-starring Sunny Deol. Sunny and Ameesha will reprise their roles as Tara Singh and Sakina respectively, in Gadar 2. It will be released in theaters on August 11.
