Huma Qureshi said, “Tarla is a touching and enjoyable film with a pinch of emotion, a pinch of inspiration and a side of tasty entertainment. Tarla Dalal’s ambitious nature and relentless pursuit of purpose is sure to inspire audiences who want to do something extraordinary and revolutionary in life. I grew up watching her cooking show with my mom and recreating many dishes from her cookbook, so I’m honored to bring her inspiring journey to life. I have tried to embody her enthusiasm and spirit as sincerely as possible, and I hope that I have succeeded in recreating her magical on-screen persona in Tarla the movie.”
Sharib Hashmi said: “In those days when the term entrepreneur was not even in vogue, Tarla Dalal broke many barriers and became a force to be reckoned with. While everyone knows about her journey, not many people know about the struggles she went through to reach that goal. What people may not know either is that Tarla had a supportive husband who was the wind under her wings. He gave up her dreams to help Tarla achieve hers. Together they made Tarla’s dreams come true. I hope that Tarla and Nalin’s story inspires all households that might otherwise still operate in a patriarchal way.”

Tarla Dalal was a pioneer in many ways: she was the first woman to have a cooking show, a cookbook and she is the only Indian to have won a Padma Shri for her contributions to the culinary arts. So, I’m honored to direct a biopic based on her extraordinary life. I couldn’t have asked for a better directorial debut, and I can’t wait for everyone to be inspired by her journey and relive the glory days of Tarla Dalal.”
