Kelly Clarkson is ready for a new beginning. The talk show maven and hitmaker, 41, revealed in a new interview why she’s heading to New York City with her children and her namesake show. “I love this question because I haven’t really been able to talk about this very much,” she said. “Obviously, we’ve been very successful, and I love everyone I work with, and we have very good relationships,” he continued. “So I talked to them because I said, ‘Guys, I need you to know what’s going on. Either I’m not going to be able to continue with the show, or I have to go to the East Coast.’”

Kelly went on to explain that her extended family is back east, a fact that became even more apparent during the years of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Covid pointed out that being isolated and so far from your family is not good for anyone,” she said. “And my family is from the East Coast, they live in North Carolina. So it was one of those things where he had to do it, there was a lot of personal stuff going on as well.”

Those “personal” things likely include her 2020 split from her ex-husband. But there’s also the matter of being accused of a toxic work environment on the set of kelly clarkson show, something she has called “fake”. “I am getting too old to work in an environment that is not healthy or fun,” she said during the interview. “I had to do that for years in meetings and sometimes working with incredibly bad people, so I didn’t want to do that anymore. I’m fully focused on the talk show for a minute, but I’m also working on things in the background.”
