Late last month, we learned that Madonna was in the hospital after a major health issue.
Reports quickly revealed that the music legend had been hiding alarming symptoms for weeks. When he collapsed, he could no longer hide the illness from him.
After her return home from ICU, she remained ill, but determined to go on tour as planned.
Now, Madonna wants everyone to know she’s alive…and plans to keep the show going.

Madonna took to Instagram on Monday, July 10.
This was his first real public statement since his hospitalization in June.
Remember, she didn’t just visit urgent care. Madonna spent days in the ICU as a serious bacterial infection ravaged her body.

“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement,” Madonna’s message began.
“I have felt your love,” he said. “I am on the road to recovery and I am incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.”
Madonna explained that when she woke up in the hospital, her first thought was for her children. Her second thought, however, was for her fans. She feared that she would have to disappoint them.

His third concern, it seemed, was for everyone who had worked on his show for months. Would it be all in vain?
“I hate to disappoint someone,” Madonna expressed relatably.
“My focus now is my health and getting stronger,” he announced. “And I assure you that I will return to you as soon as I can!”

So what is the current plan?
His next Celebration Tour would have started in Vencouver on July 15.
Instead, it will start in October. It’s a significant delay, but clearly much needed. Spinning is tiring in the better of times

“I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support,” Madonna said seriously.
She signed her message: “Love, M.”
That is a very encouraging message. It follows several days of equally encouraging reports from journalists and Madonna’s real-life friends.

Madonna had apparently been suffering from alarming symptoms, including vomiting, for weeks before collapsing in June.
Those closest to her took her to the hospital. She had been suffering from a bacterial infection. Hiding the symptoms from her made it much worse.
Madonna was afraid to postpone her tour. That fear became a self-fulfilling prophecy.
