Sister Wives fans are trying to make their voices heard.
One more time.
A few months after many TLC viewers openly clamored for a Sister Wives spin-off that would feature Janelle and Christine Brown in their post-polygamous lives, many of these same fans are taking to social media again.
The impetus behind his latest pleas to cable network executives?
Janelle uploaded a photo to Instagram a few days ago that featured lots of photos from Gwendlyn Brown’s wedding.
Both Christine and Janelle were included in many of these photos, prompting a group of observers to share comments including:
“We don’t want to see Robyn and Kody again. We love Christine and Janelle.
And also:
“Yes… Only with Christine and Janelle’s families!!!”
Christine and Janelle have remained very good friends throughout Sister Wives’ run.
They work together at the same supplement company as a salesperson and often travel together.
Last month, the ex-spouses were reportedly in Nashville at a bar and tearing apart ex-husband Kody along with a couple of other loved ones.
Both women, of course, have walked away from Kody at various times over the last year and a half.
In February, a source told The Sun that negotiations were underway for some kind of show to focus on this friendship.
“They are working on it, that’s for sure. It’s in serious talks and development,” a source told this outlet about Christine and Janelle getting their own series.
The Sun wrote that the spin-off would deal with “life after polygamy” and “female empowerment”, while adding that some of the boys are “on board and all for it”.
However, we haven’t heard anything concrete about these plans since then.
If anything, we’ve heard otherwise.
Speaking with Variety in May, showrunner Chris Poole addressed the possibility as follows:
“Of course i would love to [do spinoffs] and I think people would love to see what happens with each of them. But luckily, we’re in a place right now where we’re covering that on Sister Wives.
“No one is going to disappear from the program.”
At least Poole hasn’t rejected the idea forever, has he?
And at least we know that Christine and Janelle will continue to be prominent cast members of Sister Wives for as long as the show remains on the air.
We just found out, in fact, that TLC has confirmed the premiere date for Sister Wives Season 18.
New episodes will return on August 20 at 10/9c. We can not wait!
