Taylor Swift fans are still reeling from their spring “dirty summer” with Matty Healy.
It’s hard to watch someone you love make a mistake, even if the love is parasocial. The swifts should consider themselves lucky that their long national nightmare only lasted a few weeks.
But Taylor has had other tangles with men who were, frankly, worse than the controversial singer of The 1975 by far.
John Mayer comes to mind. But Taylor is asking his fans not to go up in arms. Not in his name.

On Saturday June 24, Taylor Swift performed before a crowd of countless fans in Minneapolis.
This was, of course, a stop on his “Eras” tour. Taylor has been performing numerous hits, with great success among Swifties.
Some of his songs have been surprises. Some, fans believe, revealed hints about her life, including revelations about her split with Joe Alwyn.

And one of those “surprise” songs was very old. “Dear John” goes back to 2010, to Taylor’s Speak Now was.
She has, of course, begun releasing edits of her “Taylor’s Version” music to claim a piece of ownership. We all remember that shade of Scooter Braun, right? Good.
“Dear John” describes Taylor’s flirtation with an older man. The ballad refers to “dark and twisted games”. The theme of the song has never been a mystery.

Taylor and John Mayer dated in 2009.
There are several things you should know about John Mayer. He is significantly older than Taylor. It is rumored that he has a rather large penis. He is famous for being good at sex.
Oh, and perhaps best known of all, he’s a terrible person. Like, deeply terrible. He once described that prodigious dong of his as “racist.” Not on a hot mic, but in an interview. total idiot.

At times, Taylor’s performances can cause Swifties to pounce, verbally and on social media, on any exes they identify as the abuser.
However, Taylor had one request before performing the acoustic portion of her concert on Saturday.
“I was hoping to ask you that as we get closer to the release of this album,” he began. “I would love to see that kindness and tact extend to our online activities.”

Taylor emphasized that she is very proud of the songs on her album. But that doesn’t mean he still resonates with her pain, let’s not forget, Teen relationships and breakups.
“I’m 33 years old,” he said. At the end of this year, she will be 34 years old. “I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19 years old.”
Taylor added: “I’m not putting this album out so you can go and feel the need to defend myself on the internet against someone you think might have written a song about 14 billion years ago.”

Did you know? We’re going to have to agree.
People shouldn’t invade John Mayer’s name on social media because of the angst Taylor felt over a decade ago.
The boy has given people plenty of reasons to give him a hard time for his own good.
