After all this time, the rumors have finally come true.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are going their separate ways.
“It is with great sadness and a very, very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own,” the actor wrote on an Instagram account. Declaration of June 17.
“We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time.”

For those who have chronicled Spelling and McDermott’s journey, this confirmation was a long time coming.
Spelling hinted at a separation from her husband since December 2021, but then the spouses continued to appear together at various events.
At another point, two years ago, we heard that the couple wanted to get divorced… but they just couldn’t afford to.
Alas, the unfortunate moment has finally arrived.

“We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and get through this,” McDermott added on social media this weekend.
“Thank you all for your support and kindness.”
Just a few days ago, Spelling made headlines after saying that she and her family were forced to leave their home due to mold infestation.
He also said they would need brain scans to make sure they were okay.

Spelling and McDermott are parents to a quintet of children:
Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, 5.
Dean is also the father of 24-year-old Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustance.
The couple married on May 7, 2006, and renewed their vows on May 8, 2010.

McDermott has admitted to cheating on his wife in the past, and a source told People magazine that infidelity continued to be a problem in the relationship.
“Tori still has important trust issues with dean. And he’s like, ‘We’re moving on with that.’ It is a complicated situation and very toxic and difficult,” this source said, while another added:
“Part of their relationship never fully mended after he cheated.”
The Canadian star publicly confessed to this unethical act in 2014, after which the couple documented their life together on their reality series, True Tori.
In one episode, McDermott said of his transgressions: “I feel ashamed. I had never felt ashamed before.”

Said Spelling in a podcast in 2020:
“My biggest fear in our relationship was that he was going to cheat on me, he was going to cheat on me, he was going to cheat on me.
“So when it happened, I said, ‘Look, I always thought from day one that he was going to cheat on me,’ and it wasn’t about him, it was about me.
“I was like, ‘Okay, I know I’m not good enough,’ that’s how I feel about myself and one day he’s going to realize that and find someone else.”

However, over time, and thanks to intense couples therapy and individual self-healing, “we made a conscious decision based on our love for each other to resist and move on,” Spelling to People Magazine said in 2016.
“It was one of the worst times of our lives, but it was also one of the best,” the mother of five said at the time.
“I wouldn’t change a thing because if we hadn’t started talking and opened those lines of communication, we might not be here today.”
As of this writing, Spelling has not commented on the split.
