“50th Anniversary of Diane von Furstenberg’s Iconic Wrap Dress: A Fashion Milestone”

An exhibition called “Woman Before Fashion” is now on display at Brussels’ Fashion and Lace Museum, showcasing the work and life of Belgium-born fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg. The exhibition commemorates the designer’s signature wrap dress, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. It demonstrates the designer’s strategy of personalizing the wrap dress in department stores in line with trends of the 70s; the development and diversification of her product lines; and her mindset towards women and clients. Along with more than 50 dress models and various iconography, the exhibition ranges from fashion to women. It provides insights into the designer’s remarkable career journey. The exhibit runs until 7th January 2022.
