Harry Kane has his eyes elsewhere than Tottenham.
The English star striker has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich, CF Bayern reported on Tuesday. The terms of the deal between Kane and Bayern are unknown, but the German club has yet to negotiate a transfer fee with Tottenham to officially acquire Kane.
As of Tuesday morning, it remains uncertain if Tottenham will agree to sell Kane. Tottenham have yet to receive an official offer from Bayern, but if they did, they would reject it immediately, Sky Sports reported. Bavarian prepares transfer offer of $89 million as well as Tottenham add-ons for Kane, according to multiple reports.
While Tottenham will reportedly turn down any transfer offer for Kane, the 29-year-old seems closer than ever to leaving the Premier League club. Kane has reportedly attracted interest from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United so far this transfer window, as he is entering the final year of his six-year deal.
Kane was set to leave Tottenham from 2021. During that summer, Kane revealed that he had a gentlemen’s agreement with club chairman Daniel Levy that would potentially allow him to transfer to a different club. However, Tottenham rejected a transfer fee of $161 million from Manchester City that would have been the richest in British history.
After a brief holdout, Kane remained with the club in 2021, still performing at the highest level. He scored 30 goals in 38 Premier League games last season, breaking Tottenham’s record for most goals scored in history in the process. However, Tottenham finished in eighth place in the EPL last season.
Kane has been under Tottenham’s control since beginning his senior professional club career in 2009. He has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances and has been loaned on four different occasions.
Harry Kane’s journey
Tom Rinaldi sat down with England’s Harry Kane to talk about his journey from club teams to being in the England national team.
As Kane has played for a Tottenham team that has been among the best in the Premier League, but failed to win a league title in its prime, a potential move to Bayern would bring in a club that has been the kind of their league for over a decade. Bayern won their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title last season, although they needed some help in the final game of the season to do so.
By potentially adding Kane, Bayern would look to continue their dominating streak in the Bundesliga and potentially win another Champions League title after being knocked out in the quarter-finals the last three seasons after winning in 2020.
