Neeraj Chopra emerged victorious at the Diamond League meet in Doha on Friday with a world-leading throw of 88.67m. This surpassed the throws of world champion Anderson Peters and Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic. However, the Indian athlete fell short of achieving the elusive 90m mark at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium. Nonetheless, his consistency across his six throws was remarkable and he will draw confidence for major competitions this season, including the World Championships in August and the Asian Games in September. Chopra has been preparing for the season in the UK, South Africa, and Turkey, with an emphasis on endurance and stamina training. The Diamond League, which also has high importance for him, continues in Lausanne (June 30), Monaco (July 21), and Zurich (August 31), with a finale at Hayward Field in Eugene on September 16.
