WhatsApp is introducing several features in its latest Android update, which includes silencing unknown callers, creating single-vote polls, and a new UI with a bottom navigation bar. Some of these features are available globally, while others are being tested in the beta update for select testers. The beta version WhatsApp for Android 2.23.10.7 includes the silent unknown callers feature that allows users to silence unknown callers and mute spam calls potentially. Users can enable this toggle in the “Privacy” settings of the app. The feature is accessible to users who have installed the latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.10.7 from the Play Store.
Additionally, the new UI for the app comes with a bottom navigation bar similar to WhatsApp for iOS. This feature is currently available to select beta testers and it is expected to be available to more users over time. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also introduced the single-vote polls feature to collect data easily. The polls feature enables users to filter and search for specific polls. Further, one can also receive notifications whenever someone votes to check the poll results easily. This feature has already started rolling out to users.
Lastly, users can forward media with captions or add captions to documents before sharing them. Users can now add a caption to documents like a newspaper article or a working document. The feature is being rolled out globally and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
