Karnataka President of Congress, G Parameshwara, has announced his candidacy for the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka as the race heats up among the state’s political leaders. The announcement comes ahead of the legislative assembly elections due to take place in Karnataka this year.
The Congress party, which is currently in power, is facing stiff competition from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal Secular (JDS) and is looking to hold onto its hold over the state.
